Molly grew up in Pennsylvania and started working professionally as a teenager at the Philadelphia's Prince Music Theater. Her debut professional show was The Snow Queen. She portrayed Little Red Ridinghood shortly after performing in Arden Theater s Into the Woods production in which she received a Barrymore Award nomination. She reprised the role as she made her Broadway debut at fifteen with Into the Woods, on Broadway. She was also nominated as an award for the Drama League Award. Molly performed on Broadway during the 2004 revival of Fiddler on the Roof. Molly attended Princeton University as a Triangle Club Membership and earned a B.A. After that, she went to Princeton University where she was part of the Triangle Club and received a bachelor's degree in the year 2008. In the same time frame she made her acting debut as Wendy Greenhut in Disney's College Road Trip. Molly has been in Off-Broadway shows, including End Days, at Ensemble Studio Theater. Additionally, she was a part of television series like Royal Pains or an HBO Pilot The Wonderful Maladys. Molly was a part of numerous regional productions, including The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee performed by Barrington Stage Company in 2008 and North Shore Music Theatre's 2010 The Diary of Anne Frank in the Westport Country Playhouse in which Molly played Anne. Molly is well-known for her role as Ali, a teenage daughter, in Paranormal Activity 2, a film from 2010, in which Jack Burditt wrote and directed the ABC comedy Last Man Standing starring Tim Allen.
