Simone Biles

Simone Biles, a gymnast from the United States, was awarded her 20th medal at the world championships when Team USA won their seventh world title in a row at Antwerp Belgium's on October 4. With 33 medals, she is the most decorated female to ever compete in gymnastics. This also includes the Olympics. Biles was able to perform a vault so difficult that it was the first a woman ever did on the international stage. Previously called the Yurchenko double-pike vault the vault has been changed to the Biles II. The 6th of October is when the record-breaking athlete will compete in her all-around individual competition. This is her first time competing internationally since the year 2021. Simone was born in Ohio, Columbus at the age of 17 in. Her mother was struggling with a drug addiction. Simone and her three siblings were removed from the house to foster care. Ron, a retired Air Force vet and Nellie an experienced nurse who retired, helped care for Simone when she was at the age of six. The couple also took in the smaller sister Adria. Simone's great aunt adopted her siblings.
