Hilary Swank is an American actress famous for her award-winning performance in films such as 'Million-Dollar Baby' and "Boys Don't Cry'. This talented actress, who has won her the Academy Award twice for Best Actress she isn't afraid to take on roles that aren't glamorous. The passion for acting was obvious from the time she was a child, when at the age of 8 she revealed to her parents that she planned to become an actress. Her story illustrates how a person can overcome challenges in life with determination and hard work. She would retreat into her imagination as a teenager in order to escape the pressures of everyday life. She did well in dancing, swimming and gymnastics in high school. At the age of sixteen she went into Los Angeles with her mother to pursue an acting career.
